Galleon Nook Self Catering Cottage
Ideal secure budget holiday accommodation for senior citizens, single travellers, couples and families with children (stay free) travelling to Fish Hoek and Cape Town (we are a Certified and Accredited Member of NOORDHOEK TOURISM).
Our 1-Bedroom Cottage comfortably sleeps 2 with a double sleeper couch in the lounge for that unexpected holiday guest / friend joining the tourists / or children (maximum 2). A budget holiday destination with so many options. Your own entrance, well lit, with quick and easy access to your cottage from the car (off street parking behind automated gates). Path to the cottage ground level with 2 easy low steps onto patio and front door.
Lock Up and Go, the Cottage is situated behind the owner's property (that's me, Kim, "Hi..pleased to meet you"), alarm panic buttons, safe and secure - 60 square metres in total.
Keep Warm inside with a romantic fireplace that creates a relaxed atmosphere (strangely enough, even if not used). The living room has an inviting high back settee and a sturdy armchair. Double front doors open to reveal a small private garden. Knotty Pine High Beamed Rafters make for an interesting ceiling again creating a relaxed and peaceful ambience. A TV with a DVD Player will entertain or soothe one after a long day exploring famous tourist attractions.
To wash away the long day and freshen up, the Cottage offers an en-suite spacious shower with towels provided. Senior Citizens will appreciate the foot pedastal in the shower to rest a weary leg for scrubbing. The cosy warm bedroom is fitted with European standard 100% percale cotton sheets and pillow cases for that luxurious holiday feeling. Before closing the bedroom or lounge curtains, catch a glimpse of Silvermine Nature Reserve and try and spot Peers Cave, dare to wonder!
For the hungry, the kitchen is fully equipped, or you can visit any nearby Restaurant (plentiful and within 5-10 minute drive). Galleon Nook has their own caterer, so for a set price you are able to choose from a set menu and have a meal delivered to your doorstep. Ask Kim for details about Niru's Kitchen. Whether married, single, or a senior citizen - you will be spoilt for food choices in our Area. From budget to the very expensive.
Should the mood grab you, take a dip in the sparkling pool or simply sit on the garden furniture and watch the stars come out - Dazzling due to our perfect spot in the Valley. Listen for birds and bats in our "twilight twitter" tree.
In the morning, head 4km Eastwards for a stroll on Fish Hoek Beach and Jagers Walk. Coffee, breakfast, beach swim or just watching the locals is all part of the experience. During Whale Watching Season (August to November) you will often see whales breaching in the Bay, an awesome sight! Jagers Walk (concreted and along the side of the mountain and beach) is very popular - take your camera as the picturesque mountain homes are something to see. As are Spectacular Sunrise and Sunset scenes in the Area.
Travel 5 minutes to our Shopping Mall (Longbeach) which has cinema's, shops, banks, McDonald's, chemist and travel agent amenities all under one roof. Doctors rooms behind the Mall called Longbeach Medical Centre) and we would refer you to Dr Blaise Whitney (GP).
Airport transfers can be arranged, we have our own hand picked Service Provider (ZAR 100 per passenger shuttle service from the Aiport to GalleonNook>. Car hire is best booked at the airport when landing (several car rental agents are on site). Broadband Internet USB port in Kim's office, ZAR 10 every 10 minutes. Galleon Nook is linked to an Emergency Paramedic Response Service, and False Bay Hospital is 5 minutes drive

Galleon Nook is within travelling distance to all famous & typically visited destinations in Cape Town i.e. Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (20 min), Robben Island (30 min to boat launch jetty), Cape Point (25 min), Table Mountain (25 min), V&A Waterfront (25 min), Wine Routes (closest=5min and 10min, next is=20min, then=30min, furtherest=1hour..), Chapmans Peak Drive (5 min), and Boulders Penquin Colony (15 min). You will need 2-3 weeks holiday time to see all the tourist attractions (jokes aside)!
